ATLANTA, GA — Texas Lutheran women’s basketball senior Kailee Mulkey (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) was named Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America Honorable Mention for the 2024-25 season, becoming the first player in program history to garner postseason recognition from the outlet.
The Bulldog guard added to her collection of postseason honors after already being named First Team All-SCAC, SCAC Tournament MVP, All-SCAC Tournament Team, and D3hoops.com Second Team All-Region.
Mulkey is just the third women’s basketball player in Texas Lutheran history to garner All-America honors, joining Chantel Mize (NAIA, 2000) and Taylor Dydalewicz (DIII News, 2015).
Mulkey led Texas Lutheran in scoring with 12.9 points and steals with 2.8 per game and finished with an average of 6.9 rebounds per game, leading all SCAC guards. All three statistical categories were career-highs for the senior guard. The New Braunfels native scored in double figures in 21 of her 29 outings including three 20-point games along with a team-high six double-doubles. Nationally, Mulkey finished 27th in steals (80) this season, with her 80 steals ranking the second most in a single-season in program history. Mulkey was pivotal in the Bulldogs SCAC Tournament run averaging a double-double for the tournament averaging 19 points and 10.3 rebounds and 41.3 minutes per game for the tournament.
Mulkey concludes her career as Texas Lutheran’s fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,196 points and the program’s all-time leader in steals in the program’s NCAA history (224). She also finishes eighth in the program’s NCAA history in assists (197) and third in rebounds (576). The senior guard became the second Bulldog in program history to record over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
Texas Lutheran finished its season with a 24-5 (.828) overall record for what is by any metric the best season in program history which included a 14-2 SCAC mark, the most wins since joining the conference in 2013-14, a SCAC Gold Division Co-Championship, winning the 2025 SCAC Tournament, and picked up the first NCAA Tournament win in program history.
