Major drug trafficker from Seguin apprehended following investigation

(Seguin) — A local man is facing federal drug charges after his arrest last week.

Authorities say they have apprehended a man accused of being a significant meth dealer, who was living in Seguin.

Over the past several months, officers with the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Bureau say a collaborative federal narcotics investigation revealed a suspect operating a multi-county drug trafficking organization, including operations in Guadalupe and Comal counties.

The investigation was made possible thanks to a collaboration with the DEA Office in San Antonio, the sheriff’s office, and the Seguin and New Braunfels police departments.

On Thursday, at the direction of GCSO Narcotics Investigators, Seguin PD uniformed officers initiated a traffic stop on a truck owned and operated by the suspect identified as James Stokely.

Stokely evaded the stop and was pursued by multiple law enforcement agencies.

They say the pursuit eventually ended, and Stokely was apprehended in the 5000 block of State Highway 123 North.

Following the arrest, Investigators from GCSO and Seguin PD searched Stokely’s residence in the 1000 block of East College Street.

They say during that search, approximately 1,500 grams of methamphetamine was discovered, along with an undetermined amount of cash and a stolen firearm.

Stokely faces federal charges of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
