(Schertz) — The search is on for an individual suspected of being involved in an attempted kidnapping in Shertz.
Schertz Police Officers say on Thursday, March 6 at approximately 4:13 p.m., the Schertz Police Department responded to a report of an alleged attempted kidnapping which had just occurred in the 11-hundred block of Oak Street. The alleged female victim, a 16-year-old, says she was walking home from school when she stopped at a convenience store and saw the male subject inside the store.
The female stated the suspect spoke to her and asked why she was walking alone. The suspect then started chasing her and she called 9-1-1.
The Schertz Police Department immediately deployed personnel and resources and diligently worked with the local community members and the Guadalupe County Constables Office (Precinct 3) to develop leads and locate a person of interest.
Officials say although there is conflicting evidence with the alleged victim’s story, this continues to be an active investigation. The Schertz PD does, however, want to reassure the citizens of Schertz that there appears to be no danger to the community.
