
Tickets for the public now available online
(Seguin) – It’s competition time in Seguin for Mariachi ensembles all across the state. Mariachi bands from schools throughout Texas will compete for top honors at the 2025 UIL State Mariachi Festival. The festival which is open to the public continues today and Saturday at the Seguin High School Performing Arts Center.
This is the ninth year for the state mariachi contest and the sixth year as an official UIL contest. Seguin High School will host 97 schools at this year’s state festival.
The first round of ensembles was performed last night. Some of those schools and districts that performed included Port Isabel, El Paso, Fort Worth and Uvalde.
Today’s batch of schools will take the stage from 1 to 9:15 p.m. Among the list of schools and districts are Alice, Houston, Edinburg, San Antonio and Weslaco.
The final session takes place on Saturday with split performances from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and again from 3:45 to 10:45 p.m. Some of those communities listed on the program include Conroe, McAllen, Denton, Grand Prairie and Brownsville.
Tickets for the State Mariachi Festival in Seguin are $15 for general admission per session. Tickets will only be sold online and can be purchased at hometicketing.com.
