(Nixon) — The Navarro Runnin’ Lady Panthers play in the Class 4A Division 2 Region 4 finals tonight on KWED.
The Lady Panthers meet Cuero for the third time this season and the third straight season in the UIL playoffs. The Lady Gobblers won the first two meetings between the schools this year and took last year’s playoff in the bi-district round. Navarro beat Cuero in the bi-district round two years ago.
The Lady Gobblers are ranked 11th in the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Girls Class 4A poll. Tonight’s winner will move on to the state semis next week and will play the winner of the Hamshire-Fannett/Bridge City Region 3 final.
The regional final between Navarro and Cuero will take place tonight at Nixon-Smiley High School and we’ll have the game on KWED. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Our Lady Panther playoff pregame will start at 6:20 this evening from Nixon on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.
(San Antonio) — The Lifegate Falcons and Lady Falcons are competing at the Texas Christian Athletic League Class 2A State Basketball tournament in San Antonio.
The Falcon boys fell to Houston Texas Christian 52-42 on Thursday in the tournament. The Lady Falcons, the top seed in the girls tournament, play their first game this morning after earning a first round bye.
The Falcon girls, looking for their fourth straight TCAL title, will play Humble Christian. The game tips at 11:30 a.m. at the Mission Concepción Sports Park in San Antonio.
