(San Antonio) — We’ll have playoff basketball on KWED tonight as the Seguin Matadors take on South San in the Class 5A Division 1 boys’ basketball bi-district round.
The Matadors finished second in District 27-5A with a 12-4 district record. Junior Corey Dailey leads the Mats in scoring averaging 22.5 points per game. The Mats are making an appearance in the playoffs for the first time since 2017 and their 13th overall in school history.
The South San Bobcats come out of District 28-5A. They are ranked 24th in the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 5A poll.
The winner of tonight’s bi-district playoff will meet the winner of the Leander Glenn/Wagner playoff in the area round later this week. Glenn and Wagner are playing at Seguin High School tonight.
Tonight’s bi-district playoff between South San and Seguin will take place at Wagner High School. We’ll have the game on KWED. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. Our Matador basketball pregame will start at 7:50 p.m. tonight on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.
(San Antonio) — The Marion Bulldogs take on Crystal City in the Class 3A Division 1 bi-district round tonight.
The Bulldogs defeated the Javelinas in the area round last season. Tonight’s bi-district playoff will take place at Edgewood Gym in San Antonio. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
(Karnes City) — And the Navarro Runnin’ Lady Panthers are in Class 4A Division 2 Region 4 girls’ semifinals. They will take on Robstown in Karnes City tonight.
The Lady Panthers advanced to the third round of the playoffs for the 13th time in the 27 seasons head coach Darrell Harborth has led the program with a 58-47 win over Devine last Friday. Tonight’s regional semifinal between Navarro and Robstown will tipoff at 6:30 p.m. this evening in Karnes City.
