(Geronimo) — The Navarro ISD has a new athletic director and football coach.
The district’s board of trustees announced on Monday the selection of Glenn Hill as the district’s new AD and head football coach at Navarro High School. Hill comes to Navarro after serving as the offensive coordinator at Smithson Valley High School for the last four years.
District Superintendent Mandy Epley made the following statement in press release from the Navarro ISD,
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Hill to the Panther Family.” said Epley. “His experience, proven leadership, and commitment to student success aligns with our district’s vision as well as the ideal coaching profile collaboratively created by our students, parents, and community. He is committed to investing in Navarro ISD to develop and grow our athletic programs through strong teacher-coaches and a culture that celebrates engagement and excellence for boys’ and girls’ sports at all levels. I am confident that Coach Hill will continue the values, tradition and legacy of Navarro athletics while building elevated opportunities and experiences for our student-athletes both on and off the field.”
Hill is expected to assume his new role the first week of February. A community Meet and Greet is scheduled on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 6:30pm in the Navarro High School cafeteria.
Hill replaces Rod Blount, who left the district after seven years as head football coach and athletic director to take the same positions at George West ISD. Blount led the Panthers to at least the area round of the playoffs in each of his years as head coach.
