Seguin Schoolyard to host popular cover band
(Seguin) – Dancing to some 80s music might just be the thing to warm folks up again. The Seguin Schoolyard, formerly, The Backyard, invites local families out Friday night as it presents the popular 80s cover band The Spazmatics. The band described as the ultimate eighties experience will perform at the indoor, outdoor establishment at 225 N. Saunders Street.
Miguel Alvarado, the general manager for Seguin Schoolyard, says the business is excited to welcome the popular band to Seguin. He says the band, equipped with its geeky charm, is always known for providing a great and fun show.
“The Spazmatics…I mean who doesn’t want to actually have a good time with music from the 80s and the 90s and so forth. The Spazmatics bring out a great, great amount of people. These guys are awesome. These guys are good for a community just like Seguin. These guys go all around the U.S. These guys are amazing,” said Alvarado.
Alvarado says Seguin Schoolyard is not only a concert venue but features a collection of local businesses and bar that will also be open that night.
“Please come out. Bring your children. Anyone under the age of 3 gets in for free. You’ll get to hang out with not just us but also the 10 other businesses that we have here,” said Alvarado.
The concert gets underway at 6 p.m. on Friday. General admission tickets are $17 each and can be purchased at the door or in advance at seguinschoolyard.com. VIP tables for six are limited but still available. A link to purchase tickets can be found on the Seguin Schoolyard Facebook page.
