Navarro's Wozniak and Smith earn all-state volleyball accolades

Navarro ISD Athletics

(Longview, TX) — Navarro High School senior Kate Wozniak and junior Rylee Smith were honored on the all-state volleyball teams by the Texas Sports Writers Association.

Wozniak was recognized on the Class 4A All-State Third Team while Smith earned Class 4A team honorable mention. The teams were announced by the TSWA last week.

Wozniak and Smith were All-District 26-4A First Team selections in 2024. The duo were heavy hitters for the Lady Panther front line during this past season leading Navarro on a deep playoff run. On November 13th, Wozniak signed a letter of intent to play beach volleyball at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

The Navarro Lady Panther volleyball team won 32 games overall in the 2024 season and finished in 3rd place in District 26-4A. Navarro advanced to the UIL Class 4A Region IV Division II Finals where they fell to district foe and eventual state champion Wimberley.

Former Navarro head coach Misty Fletcher-Remmers was named the Class 4A Coach of the year. Fletcher-Remmers led Wimberley to the Class 4A Division II State Championship in her first year as head coach. The state title was the seventh for the Wimberley volleyball program. The Lady Texans came from down two sets to none to defeat Canyon Randall for the championship.

The Navarro volleyball team is led by Paige Poth. Poth took over for Fletcher-Remmers, who coached the Lady Panthers for one season in 2022. Poth completed her second season as head coach at Navarro High School.
