(Weimar) — The Seguin Lady Matadors took a pair of games at the Weimar Girls Tournament on Thursday.

The Lady Mats dropped Bellville, 51-32 in their first game. Sophomore Britlyn Walls poured in 15 points to lead Seguin. Jazlyn Gil added nine in the victory.

Seguin made it a 2-0 day in their second game with a 79-19 rout of Rice Consolidated. Two Lady Mats reached 30 points in the win. Freshman Faith Franklin had 31 while Walls notched a 30-point game.

The Lady Matadors have won five in a row overall. They continue play in the Weimar tournament today.

(Victoria) — The Seguin Matador boys are at the Mike Smith Classic Boys Basketball Tournament at Victoria East High School. That tournament takes place today and tomorrow.

The Matadors will play at San Antonio Edison on Tuesday to close out the year while the Lady Matadors will host Edison on Tuesday afternoon.

(Nixon) — The Navarro Panther boys will be at the Nixon-Smiley tournament today and tomorrow.

The Panthers will be back home in the new year next Thursday when they host Cuero for an afternoon tilt.

(Lockhart) — The Navarro Runnin’ Lady Panthers will play their final game of 2024 on Monday.

Navarro will be at Lockhart. The game will tip at 11:30 on Monday morning.

(Smithville) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs are back to tournament play after Christmas. The Lady Bulldogs are participating in the Smithville tournament today and tomorrow.

Marion will have the rest of the year off following the tournament and then host Young Women’s Leadership Academy for their District 27-3A opener next Friday.

(Johnson City) — The Marion boys are playing at the Johnson City Tournament today and tomorrow to close out their 2024 schedule.

The Bulldogs will host Blanco next Friday at Marion High School.

(Universal City) — And the Lifegate Christian basketball teams will return to action on Monday at First Baptist Academy in Universal City.
