Winner of KWED Christmas Angel contest to take home $500 cash
(Seguin) — Do you know someone who could use or is deserving of $500 cash this holiday season? Nominations continue to pour in for this year’s KWED Christmas Angel Contest. The deadline for the contest is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
For years, the annual KWED Christmas Angel letter-writing contest has blessed local individuals and/or families who have lost, were struggling or who kept pushing forward despite the obstacles in front of them. The idea for the Christmas Angel was to host a contest that best illustrates the true spirit of giving and sharing during the Christmas season.
Although it’s dubbed a “letter writing contest,” it is not based on the writer’s skills but instead on the reasoning behind why a specific individual or family should be awarded the holiday cash.
As part of the contest, the winning letter will be read by those nominating the family or by someone at KWED live on the air just a few days before Christmas. The winning letter and photos of the individual or family will also be printed in the Seguin Daily News holiday edition.
All letters must be handwritten or typed and must be turned into KWED located at 609 E. Court St.
All letters must include the name of the person nominating. It must also include their address, email and phone number. Letters without a name or phone number will not be considered for the contest.
The winning letter will be selected by an anonymous panel of judges not employed at KWED or the Seguin Daily News.
Again, the deadline to submit your nomination for the KWED Christmas Angel Contest is 5 p.m. this Tuesday, Dec. 17
