(Seguin) – A holiday family classic hits the big screen over at The Palace Theatre this weekend and everyone is invited. The Zonta Club of Seguin presents “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” this Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Mickey Cabin, Zonta Seguin’s fundraising committee chairman, says the group is excited about launching what it hopes will be a new holiday tradition for Seguin.
“The tickets are only $10 per person, and they include a ticket for either hot cocoa or lemonade and some cookies and a chance to win some really great door prizes and we are going to have a raffle. We have some really great raffle items that are suitable for children or adults and the raffle tickets are going to be $20 for arm-to-arm length and so they can drop their little raffle ticket in. Mr. Dan Daniels will be selling popcorn, sodas and candy and then we are going to have a Christmas tree, and it is going to have some little ornaments on it that we are going to be selling and then (Santa) Jack Skellington will be there in a Santa costume, and he will be there for picture taking,” said Cabin.
“The reason we do fundraising for the organization is to afford scholarships for local students and individuals that want to be able to go to college or a trade to further their education and Zonta Seguin is an organization with a mission to empower women and girls worldwide through service and advocacy. Zonta International is a leading global organization of individuals working together to build a better world for women and girls,” said Cabin.
Doors open at 5 p.m. followed by the movie at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. The QR code to purchase tickets in advance is available on the Zonta Club of Seguin Facebook page. There is no cost for kids 2 and under. Seating is limited so families are encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible. Only a limited number of seats will be available for the Sunday movie.
