(Geronimo) — The volleyball postseason all-district selections have been announced for District 26-4A and a number of the Navarro Lady Panthers received recognition on the 1st and 2nd teams along with honorable mentions in addition to academic accolades.
Making the All-District First Team were Kate Wozniak and Rylee Smith. The senior Wozniak and junior Smith were heavy hitters for the Lady Panther front line during the 2024 season. On November 13th, Wozniak signed a letter of into to play beach volleyball at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
Earning second team honors were seniors Morgan Helms and Tegan Harborth. Harborth was an instrumental back line defender for Navarro. Helms, an outside hitter, was a part of the strong Lady Panther front line. Helms announced on November 13th she will continue her academic and volleyball career at the University of Texas at Dallas.
A pair of Navarro defensive specialists earned all-district honorable mentions. Senior Sarah Falor along with junior Hannah Durrett were recognized for work on defense this past season.
Academic All-District team members for the Lady Panthers were Wozniak, Helms, Harborth, Falor, Smith, Durrett, Isabelle Geipel, Avery Sisak, Peyton Schimonksky and Minka Du Perez. Helms and Harborth were named to the All-State Academic Second Team. Wozniak and Geipel were Academic All-State Honorable Mentions.
The Navarro Lady Panther volleyball team won 32 games overall in the 2024 season and finished in 3rd place in District 28-4A. Navarro advanced to the UIL Class 4A Region IV Finals where they fell to district foe and eventual state champion Wimberley. The Navarro volleyball team is led by Paige Poth, who completed her second season as head coach at Navarro High School.
