Friday Clay Shoot to benefit non-profit still accepting teams

(Seguin) — A local contractor will be taking a break from the job site this Friday in hopes of filling up those shelves over at the Christian Cupboard.

It apparently is not too late to join Sullivan Contracting Services as it hosts its first ever Charity Sporting Clays Shoot at the Moyesway Shooting Sports Complex in Kingsbury. The fundraiser will be held from approximately noon to 3 p.m.

Jordan Richardson, of Sullivan Contracting, says giving back is at the heart of the company and felt that the shoot was the best way to give back this holiday season.

“Faith, family, relationships and results – those are our four core values, so our ownership has a heart for the community, and they just want to give back a little bit. So, we decided that we would like to do some sort of larger engagement and fundraiser for somebody that we have already been partnering with. We’ve partnered with the Christian Cupboard on a small scale for a while now. We just do an ongoing collection that we take over there monthly,” said Richardson.

Richardson says although the clay shoot is this Friday, there is still plenty of time to enter a team of four

“I think we are at 19 teams right now. So, we still have a few available. It will kind of be first come, first serve that way we don’t push it in to having multiple flights of shooters,” said Richardson.

Although Sullivan Contracting is hosting the event, Richardson says other colleagues in the industry are also helping to make the event a success.

“We are going to do a lunch. Masters Electrical (Services), they have donated the food and the cooking of the food. They are well versed in the art of barbecuing. So, they have a pretty nice setup, and we will do the lunch first and then shooting will take a couple of hours and we will come back and do an awards ceremony. We are going to have the Christian Cupboard on site. They are actually participating as well. They have a team that is going to shoot,” said Richardson.

Like Masters Electrical Services, other companies have also pitched in, many of them donating prizes for a raffle.  Cost is $600 for a 4-man team. Those wishing to join are asked to contact Richardson as soon as possible at 830-402-8691. Moyesway Shooting Sports is located at 12601 FM 20 in Kingsbury.
