(New Braunfels) — Sentencing is in February for a New Braunfels man who pleaded guilty to a charge of trying to obtain a gun to commit a felony.
The Justice Department claims Cameron Peterson, 20, tried twice this year to buy a 12-gauge shotgun from a New Braunfels pawn shop.
Both times the pawn shop refused the sale because of his age and the kind of gun he was trying to buy.
The FBI reportedly found evidence that Peterson had been planning mass shootings since 2022.
A search of his home turned up a sawed-off rifle and an improvised explosive device.
Peterson faces up to ten years in federal prison.
