Screens ready to welcome films at Palace Theatre

(Seguin) – Film fanatics and moviegoers are invited to spend part of their Pecan Fest weekend inside the Palace Theatre.

The annual Seguin Film & Arts Festival, featuring films from around the world, returns to the Palace Theatre this Saturday.

Organizers say festival directors narrowed the 95 entries received to the 22 films being screened on Saturday.  Judges then chose the top films in each category.

The doors open at 10 a.m., with the first session of films beginning at 10:25 a.m.  This year’s festival starts with a film shot in and around Seguin, “The Castle of Baron Finch.”

The second session of the film festival kicks off at 11:30 a.m.

Following an afternoon break, the films return to the screen at 4 p.m.  The afternoon session includes the film “Babe Magnet” in which the cast includes Seguin actress Sheila Lucas.  Following this session, the public is encouraged to stick around for a Q & A with the filmmakers. After the Q & A, Casting Director Michael Druck will lead a discussion on casting for film directors.

The final block of the day debuts at 6:30 p.m., with awards plus a filmmaker Q & A.
