Trio facing charges following shooting, drug deal gone bad

(Guadalupe County) – An alleged deal made over social media to exchange drugs quickly resulted in one person being shot and three suspects now facing criminal charges.

Guadalupe County Sheriff’s investigators say the incident involved a 20-year-old male and an 18-year-old male who reportedly met up with a 15-year-old. Officials say deputies were dispatched just after 3:30 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Birmendsorf for gunshots heard in the area.

The complainant told deputies that they had heard 3 or 4 gunshots and saw a young male running towards State Hwy 123. They also reported seeing a black car leaving the area towards the highway.

While deputies were on scene another call was dispatched to the 100 block of Armament about a 15-year-old male who was assaulted.

Investigation reveals that following an argument between both parties, the 15-year-old who was assaulted reportedly responded by shooting the 18-year-old in the leg.

The 18-year-old was treated and released from Resolute Hospital in New Braunfels while the 15-year-old was also treated and released from Christus Santa Rosa in San Marcos.

Officials say charges are pending for all subjects.
