(Seguin) – Here’s your chance to take home a ribbon at this year’s Guadalupe County Fair. Today, Wednesday Oct. 9, is the arrival day for all home arts division entries. All entries will be accepted today at the Guadalupe County Fairgrounds between 2 and 7 p.m.

According to the Guadalupe County Fair Association, the home arts division is one of the many traditional events for the fair and helps promote the many talented residents that live in Guadalupe County.

Several items are accepted and include things such as antiques, cross-stitch, knitting, sewing projects, canned items, handwork, photography etc. Divisions include Adult; High School; Middle School; Elementary 1-4; Kindergarten and Preschool and Exceptional.

All entries today should be entered at the Exhibition Hall at the Guadalupe County Fairgrounds. Cut flowers are also eligible to be entered. Cut flowers, however, should arrive between 9 and 10 a.m. Thursday.

After judging, all entries will remain on display through the end of the fair. Items must be picked up on Sunday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

There is no cost to enter projects in the Home Arts exhibit. Each exhibitor in the home arts division will receive one free pass to the fair. Special prizes for most entries in the home arts division will also be awarded.

Anyone with questions is asked to contact Chairman Nichole McLean at 830-265-3147.

Meanwhile, today is also the start of school tours at this year’s Baby Barnyard. Hundreds of area school children will spend part of their day at the fairgrounds learning more about the importance of agriculture.

This year’s official fair catalog is available online at www.gcfair.org. The Guadalupe County Fair and PRCA Rodeo officially gets underway Thursday and runs through Sunday.
