Lions to host Fall Fling tonight

Famous pork steak dinners to be served

(Seguin) – You might want to leave tonight’s dinner up to the Lions. The Seguin Noon Lions Club will be serving up another round of pork steak dinners during its annual Fall Fling scheduled for tonight in the Silver Center parking lot. The drive-thru event will feature the meal by Troy Brown and Next Door Catering.

Lion Bill Klingemann says the organization hosts the meal twice a year — once during its Spring Fling and, of course, during its Fall Fling held during this time of year.

“Folks from prior years talked about how much they enjoyed our pork steak dinners, and couldn’t we do it twice a year? Well, we got to thinking about it and decided that it would be a great idea personally because, I love those pork steaks that Troy Brown and Next Door Catering make so you didn’t have to ask me twice.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the various charities that the Lions support year-round including the Lions KidSight program, a free vision screening and correction campaign for children ages 6 months through early grade school.

Plates are $15 pre-sale or $20 at the drive through. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Silver Center, Starcke Furniture, Ascot’s Custom Travel or at Tri County Air.

The plates will be served today from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Silver Center is located at 510 E. Center St. Vehicles are being asked to enter into the parking lot off of San Marcos Street.
