Guadalupe County to consider outdoor burn ban

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today
Guadalupe County to consider outdoor burn ban

(Seguin) – Dry conditions and the lack of rain will have county officials again reevaluating whether it’s time to implement the outdoor burn ban in the unincorporated areas of the county. A request today to initiate an outdoor burn ban will come before the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court. At the beginning of September, the court delayed action despite a recommendation from Patrick Pinder, county emergency management coordinator and fire marshal.

At the time, Guadalupe County Judge Kyle Kutscher believed that the rain that was forecast would allow them the opportunity to hold off for a bit.

Just this past weekend, hazards of outdoor burning reportedly caused a local resident to lose their home and several pets in the 400 block of Vivroux Ranch Road.

The Guadalupe County Commissioners Court meeting gets underway at 10 a.m. in the Guadalupe County Courthouse.
