(Seguin) — There is a new person who will be sharing the stories of the Seguin ISD. The school district is announcing Emily Allen to its staff. Allen is the new Seguin ISD director of communications. Allen replaces Sean Hoffmann who for years served in that role.
Having come on board just days before the start of school, Allen has had no time to get her feet wet and has already covered a record number of events this fall. As a former executive producer at KSAT 12 in San Antonio, Allen brings 13 years of experience to the local school district.
Although she has lived in San Antonio, Allen says she is no stranger to Seguin and looks forward to sharing the district’s stories while also keeping families and the community on top of district news.
“I’m not from Seguin directly. I’ve spent every summer here as a kid dating back to 1998, so I feel very invested in the Seguin community and with that comes the desire to tell the stories of our kids and of our staff and all the good things that they are doing. I think there are so many positive stories to be told across Seguin ISD at our campuses and the things that are to come so I’m really excited to share those with the Seguin ISD community and even beyond. I think our students and our staff are deserving of certain recognitions, but you can’t get that recognition unless you are shouting that story to the world so that’s really the part I hope to play here,” said Allen.
Allen was introduced to the Seguin community during Tuesday’s night’s meeting of the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees.
