Seguin ISD students receive school supplies from TEXAS YES project

(Seguin) — Students at several Seguin ISD elementary schools were able to receive a few extra school supplies thanks to a statewide project.

The supplemental school supplies received by students were courtesy of the TEXAS YES Project.

Seguin ISD Superintendent Dr. Veronica Vijil recently joined staff at Rodriguez Elementary to help distribute each “Box of Dreams” to students. Similar distributions were also held at Jefferson, McQueeney, and Patlan Elementary Schools.

Each kit includes pencils, paper, folders, tissues, and other classroom essentials to help supplement students’ supplies for the new school year. TEXAS YES, presented by Thomas J. Henry, provides boxes to selected elementary schools each year, based on eligibility requirements.

District officials say 1,680 kits were provided to students across the four selected campuses in the Seguin ISD. TEXAS YES has distributed more than 660,000 school supply kits statewide since 1998.
