(Seguin) — Two races are set, and one remains unresolved in the Seguin ISD.
The school district’s candidate filing deadline ended Monday for individuals interested in serving on the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees.
There are no contested races for the Seguin School Board.
Incumbent Grace Mueller was the only candidate to file for her District 3 seat.
Lisa Burns is the lone candidate to file for the District 6, which is currently held by Benito “Ben” Amador, who decided not to seek reelection.
In District 1, the future of that seat remains unclear. Incumbent Carl Jenkins, who serves as the board’s vice-president, did not file for reelection.
District officials say due to no one filing for the seat, the school board will now have the responsibility of appointing a trustee to the seat within the next 180 days.
Jenkins’ term runs through the November election period.
