Local Seguin youth excel at Junior Olympic track meet

(Greensboro, North Carolina) — A pair of local youth track athletes representing Top Notch Performance based in Seguin made strong showings at the AAU Junior Olympics Track And Field meet in Greensboro, North Carolina.

On Monday, Adrian Rangel came in ninth in his heat with a time of 2:04 in the Boys 15-16 years old 800 meters at the event. The 15-year-old runner broke his personal record with his effort. In June, Rangel won the Boys 15-16 800 meter run at the AAU Region 19 Qualifier in Converse.

Also on Monday, Kingston Barr competed in the Boys 12-year-old 200 meter dash. Barr placed 6th in his heat with a time of 28.20 seconds. Last month, Barr finished fourth in the 200 meters at the AAU regional.

Both Rangel and Barr represent Top Notch Performance Speedsters. Top Notch Performance provides recreational sports activities for K – 12 youth in the Seguin community and outlying areas. The TNP Speedsters are coached by former Seguin High School athlete Michael Watson.
