(Seguin) — The Seguin Senior League All-Stars were eliminated by Victoria from the Southwest Regional Senior Little League Baseball Tournament on Monday night with the Victoria All-Stars winning, 18-2 in the tournament semifinals at Smokey Joe Williams Field.

After catching the first three games for Seguin, Will Gray Mahaffey started on the mound going four and a third innings and striking out three. Colten Scott would relieve Mahaffey in the 5th inning.  Jerric Garcia and Coton Taft also saw time on the hill for Seguin.

Gavin Harrison and Caleb Armstrong scored the two runs in the ball game for the Seguin All-Stars. Harrison walked to start the bottom of the fourth inning. Armstrong would follow with a single. A John Hernandez walk would load the bases. A fielder’s choice by Conner Bloch would plate Harrison and then Corey Dailey hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Armstrong and give Seguin its second run.

Connor Cheatham had a hit in the game. Cheatham led the Seguin Senior League All-Stars with seven hits in the tournament.

Seguin finished the tournament with a 2-2 record. After falling to Hondo on Friday, Seguin won two straight elimination games, beating Louisiana, 14-8 on Saturday and crushing Arkansas, 16-3 on Sunday.

The tournament championship game will take place tonight between Hondo and Victoria. The teams will meet for the second time in three days. Hondo beat Victoria 15-13 in nine innings on Sunday night.

The winner of tonight’s game will advance to the Senior League World Series in Easley, South Carolina on Saturday. First pitch tonight is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Smokey Joe Williams Field.
