(Seguin) — The Seguin Senior League All-Stars will host the Southwest Regional Senior Little League Baseball Tournament at Smokey Joe Williams Field starting today.
The tournament features six teams from four different states. The teams compete in the Little League Senior Division, which is comprised of boys ages 13-16 years old.
Teams representing New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas will take the field over six days in Seguin.
The Seguin All-Stars advanced to the regional tournament by defeating New Braunfels in the District 31 Championship in La Vernia last month. Seguin beat New Braunfels twice to reach the regional round, winning their final match-up 14-12 on June 24th.
Seguin will play their first game on Friday. The Seguin All-Stars will play the winner of today’s game between Hondo and Little Rock, Arkansas. Those two teams play the first game of the tournament today at 5 p.m.
Victoria will take on Gonzales, Louisiana in today’s second game at 8 p.m. The tournament runs through the weekend and will conclude with the championship game on Tuesday, July 23rd at 6 p.m.
The winner of the championship game will advance to the Senior League Baseball World Series in Easley, South Carolina. The World Series takes place July 27th through August 3rd.
All games for the Southwest Regional Senior Little League Baseball Tournament will be held at Smokey Joe Williams Field at 950 S. Austin Street in Seguin.
