Want to enter a float in the 4th of July Parade?

Parade entry deadline is Friday

(Seguin) — Time is ticking to lock in your spot in this year’s Biggest Small Town Fourth of July Parade in Texas.

The parade gets underway at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4 in downtown Seguin.

Kyle Kramm, Seguin Main Street and CVB director, says the deadline to enter your float entry is this Friday.

“We currently have over 80 applications already but we are still taking applications and asking that they be turned in by June 21 so that we can get confirmations out the week of June 24,” said Kramm.

Kramm says the city encourages folks to come out and participate. He says the parade continues to be one of the most popular independence day parades around.

“Any individual or organization or business is welcome to participate. Our rule is that the entry be decorated in red, white and blue. So, if you own a small business and you want to show your appreciation to the community by being in the parade, you can definitely do that. If you are a non-profit organization, you can definitely enter a vehicle or a truck and trailer and decorate it out in red, white and blue to kind of promote what your mission is to the greater community. It’s a large event that is great to spread your message as well as share that you are proud of being an American,” said Kramm.

There is no cost to enter the parade. Again, the deadline is Friday, June 21. Those wishing to enter the parade are asked to visit seguintexas.gov for an application or contact the Seguin Main Street Office at 830-401-2475.
