(Seguin) — The fun continues in Central Park with our third Summer Concert Series with RIO. Their performance will be on Sunday, June 16 from 7:00 to 8:30 in Central Park. The band includes Frutoso “Fruit” Balderas, Lloyd Waxler, and Steve Richardson.
This popular local dance band plays all types of music to get you up and moving with the beat.
“We’re all locals; lived here all our lives. We love Seguin and look forward to playing for you.” said Susan Balderas, Fruit’s wife.
Rio started back in 1984. They’ve seen many changes and different music styles over the years. “I’ve been playing professionally since I was 15. I’m very fortunate to have Steve and Lloyd playing with me. They are great guys, and they make playing fun. Steve actually played with my band, Patchwork, in the 70s while attending college. He came back to play with me after he retired. We are available for your next function.” Said Fruit. Call or text at 512-965-6602 or email FruitSusan@yahoo.com. Follow them on Facebook at Rio Seguin, TX.
The concert series continues on June 23 with Gacho Sol and our final concert, the San Antonio Symphonic Band, on June 30.
Wiggle Waggle, Any Which Way, Seguin Area Youth Leadership Academy and the Girl Scouts will sell food and drinks. The family-friendly concerts will be on Sundays, starting at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m. They are free and offer something for every musical taste. Bring a chair or blanket, sit back, relax, and enjoy!
Generous donations were received from local businesses, industries, and individuals.

Additional sponsors are Alamo Group, Anders Pierce Realty, CMC Steel Texas, Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, GVEC, The Koehler Company, Seguin Electric Company, Starcke Furniture, Tri-County A/C & Heating LLC, and the City of Seguin Main Street Program.
