Fan drive now underway

Seguin Fire Department working to keep families cool

(Seguin) — Summertime heat and humidity in our area can be relentless, but enduring the scorching temperatures without air conditioning can be downright dangerous.

Unfortunately, that’s the reality for many individuals and families in Seguin. That’s why the Seguin Fire Department is hosting its annual Fan Drive.

“Fans are critical to keeping those without air conditioning or who are on a fixed income comfortable and safe during the hot Texas summers,” said Seguin Fire Chief Dale Skinner. Beginning this week, fans will be available to households (in the Seguin city limits only) without air conditioning. Fans can be picked up between 8 a.m. and 4:30 pm Mondays through Fridays from the Fire Administration office located at 660 South Highway 46. A picture ID and proof of residency is required. Limit one fan per household. Residents who received a fan last year will be ineligible to receive one this year.

Donations for the Fire Department’s Fan Drive can also be dropped off at the Fire Administration office.

The drop-off location for the Fire Department’s Fan Drive is the Fire Administration office located off 660 State Hwy 46.

The Seguin Fire/EMS Department can be reached by calling 830-401-2321 or via email ltrevino@seguintexas.gov.
