Marion Lady Bulldogs garner all-district honors

(Marion) — The Marion Lady Bulldog softball program was well represented on the 26-3A All-District awards list for their work on the diamond during the 2024 season.

Freshman Cambry Dojahn was named District Newcomer of the Year. Junior catcher Gianna Ricarte, senior infielder Greenlee Trevino and senior outfielder Kelli Cielencki along with sophomore outfielder Lailah Hernandez made the All-District First Team.

Senior pitcher Kira Jones, junior outfielder Maggie Luna and junior infielder Carlie Alvarado landed on the All-District Second Team.

Freshman Alyson Robles earned a spot on the Honorable Mention list.

And head coach Sammy Scribner was named District Coach of the Year. Scribner led the Lady Bulldogs to the District 26-3A title.

Named on the Academic All-District team were Dojahn, Trevino, Cielencki, Hernandez, Jones, Luna, Alvarado and Robles along with Peyton Smith-Velasquez, Hailey Halter, Brianna Hunter, Gracie Luna, Ellie Parker and Alexis Guthrie.

Marion finished with an 18-13 record during the 2024 season and advanced to the bi-district round of the 3A Region IV playoffs in head coach Sammy Scribner’s sixth season leading the Lady Bulldogs.
