(Austin) — The UIL Track & Field State Meet gets underway today in Austin.

Maggie Rudisaile is representing Marion High School at the Class 3A state meet in Austin today. Rudisaile won the gold in the girls pole vault at the 3A Region IV meet in Seguin on April 20th.

There are six Seguin High School athletes who will be competing on Friday. Nik Henry who won the silver medal in the boys 100 meter dash at the Class 5A Region IV meet last month in San Antonio will compete in that event.

Henry will join the Seguin boys 100 meter relay team along with Ocean Moreno, Elliot Weaver and Kayden Holz. The relay team won the regional championship with a gold medal performance.

The Seguin boys 200 meter relay team, which also won a regional championship gold medal will compete. That team is comprised of Moreno, Henry, Weaver and Sammy Bode.

Also in the girls competition, Daisha Shular who won gold in the 100 meter dash and silver in the long jump at the regional meet, will represent Seguin in those two events.

The UIL state track and field meet is taking place today through Saturday at Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium in Austin.
