(Crowley, LA) — Some impressive news for a Seguin Lady Matador alum.
John Melvin University freshman and Seguin High School grad Ashlie Aguilar set the school’s single season home run record this season. Aguilar finished the year with four homers. A JMU infielder, Aguilar was also named the school’s defensive player of the year.
Aguilar was a four-year letter for Seguin softball coach John Garica. She was a multi-sport athlete at Seguin as she also competed on the Lady Matador volleyball and basketball teams. Aguilar graduated from Seguin High School in 2023.
John Melvin University is located in Crowley, Louisiana. The Millers went 17-23 this past season under coach Amber Leblanc.
