Community, former students to come together
(Seguin) – Today is the day for the much-anticipated unveiling of the newly dedicated Jack Lee Learning Center. The former Mercer-Blumberg Learning Center in the Seguin Central Office Building will be renamed in honor of the late Jack Lee.
Lee unexpectedly died just three months after retiring from the school district in 2019. He served 44 years as a teacher. Thirty-seven of those years were served in the Seguin ISD.
After seeking nominations from the community, the Seguin ISD unanimously voted for the new name and allowed for the new façade/signage that will be unveiled outside the building.
The MBLC operation was relocated to the Saegert Campus allowing the opportunity to rename the center in the Oak Park Mall building.
The unveiling and dedication ceremony will be held today at 5:15 p.m. A small reception will follow inside the building until 5:45 p.m.
