Texas Ladies State Championship Chili Cookoff returns to Seguin

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today
Texas Ladies State Championship Chili Cookoff returns to Seguin

(Seguin) — The world’s largest all female chili cook-off returns to Seguin this weekend. Over 150 female chili cookers from across the state and nation will be heating up the competition during the 53rd Annual CASI Texas Ladies State Chili Championship Cook-off.

Cooks and their RVs continue to arrive today at Max Starcke Park East. The prestigious cook off is not only for the ladies but also for Junior Miss cooks. To help make the event a success, judges are especially needed. Over 300 judges alone are needed for this competition.

Those interested will judge an average of 10 to 12 chili’s during their tasting experience. No judging experience is necessary, just a taste for chili. Beverages and condiments will be provided. Those who register for judging will have preferential seating assignments. The sooner a person registers, the higher round that they will judge. Coordinators say there is likely to be six rounds of judging.  Judges will be seated starting at 12:45 pm on Saturday. If a judge is not present to judge during the round they are assigned, then they will lose that spot.

The community is also encouraged to come out and check out the vendors and take part in Saturday activities to include a silent auction, a drawing and a 50/50 raffle.

Those interested in deciding on who takes home the crown are asked to visit the group’s Facebook page or website. To sign-up on the group’s  website visit tlscco.com.
