(San Antonio) — The Seguin Lifegate Christian state champion girls basketball team was recognized at the Texas Christian Athletic League’s All-Star Weekend.

On Friday, Lady Falcon junior Anelyna Cavazos was named the Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the second year in a row in addition to earning All-Star first team honors. Lifegate head coach Gabe Galvan also repeated as the Girls Basketball Coach of the Year. On Saturday, senior Hailee Lipsey was named to the All-Star First Team. And Lady Falcon sophomore Sharla Maples earned All-Star Game MVP honors with a triple double.

The Lifegate Lady Falcons won their third straight state championship with a thrilling 36-34 come-from-behind victory over Cornerstone Christian Academy in the Class 2A state championship on February 24th.

The Lady Falcons finished the season with a 25-1 overall record while going unbeaten in 11 games during the district season. The 25 wins were five more over their total from their 2022-23 championship season.
