Over his last two starts, Beard has thrown 19 innings, allowing one run on eight hits while striking out 13 on 286 pitches.
San Antonio native Aric Vasquez (San Antonio/Brandeis) went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. The Bulldogs took advantage of two Trinity errors in the first to get on the board with two runs behind an RBI groundout from Peavy and an RBI single from Draehn.
The two teams would trade zeroes until the eighth inning that saw the Bulldogs add three insurance runs. An RBI single from Vasquez extended the TLU lead to 3-0 before an Adam Peavy two-RBI single brought the game to its final score.
