(Austin) — The Seguin Matador 4X100 relay team took the silver medal at the Texas Relays in Austin on Saturday.

Nik Henry, Ocean Moreno, Kayden Holz and Elliot Weaver finished 2nd in the Division I high school event on the University of Texas campus with a time of 41.48 seconds. Archbishop Carroll High School took first with a time of 40.73 seconds.

Meanwhile, Seguin’s Daisha Shular finished 14th out of 56 competitors in the girls Division II 100 meter dash. The junior crossed the finish line with a time of 11.75 seconds in her final heat.

The District 26-5A track & field meet is this week. The meet will get underway on Wednesday at New Braunfels Canyon High School.

And the Marion High School girls 4X100 meter relay team also competed at the Texas Relays on Saturday. The team of Kamryn Garza, Maggie Rudisaile, Eva Sarmiento and Maggie Luna finshed 47th in the Division I preliminaries with at time of 51.19 seconds.
