SEGUIN, Texas — Texas Lutheran junior forward Easton Allen (New Braunfels/Marion) has been named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men’s Basketball Academic All-District Team.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men’s Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men’s basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 17, 2024.
Allen appeared in all 25 games, including 22 starts, for a TLU team that went 6-19. The New Braunfels, Texas, native led the team with 6.1 rebounds per game – ranking in a tie for ninth in the SCAC – and was third on the team with 10.2 points per game. The 6-6 forward was also one of the most lethal shooters in the conference, leading the SCAC with a 46.3 percentage from beyond the arc. Allen would also finish fifth in free throw percentage making 81 percent of his attempts from the line.
A Communications major, Allen earned All-SCAC Honorable Mention accolades and has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his collegiate career. This is the second straight year in which Allen has garnered Academic All-District honors.
