Lady Matador softball team run-rules Boerne Champion

(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matador softball team run-ruled Boerne Champion, 14-0 in five innings on Tuesday night at the Fields at Huber Ranch.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for Seguin and moved the Lady Mats into a tie for fourth place in District 26-5A with the Lady Chargers and Canyon Cougarettes after the first round of the district season. All three teams are 3-4 in district play.

Erin Johnston and Camryn Rios both went deep for the Lady Mats with home runs to center field in Tuesday night’s victory. Madyson Schultze went the distance in the circle striking out four in getting the shutout.

Seguin will be back home on Thursday night to host Pieper on Teacher Appreciation Night at Huber Ranch.

(Kerrville) — Meanwhile, the Seguin Matador baseball team dropped a 2-0 decision at Kerrville Tivy on Tuesday night. The Mats will play the Antlers again on Thursday, this time at Smokey Joe Williams Field.

(Luling) — And the Marion Lady Bulldog softball team fell 15-11 at Luling in District 26-3A play on Tuesday night. Marion will travel to Pettus for a non-district game on Thursday.

In other games on the Thursday high school schedule, the Marion baseball team will host Great Hearts Northern Oaks. The Navarro Panthers will be at La Vernia. And the Navarro Lady Panther softball team will host Cuero.
