(Seguin) –The Seguin track team took home multiple gold medals at the Matador Relays on Saturday.

The Matador 4X100 relay track team took gold, shaving more than a half-second off their time from their last meet two weeks ago. The team of Elliot Weaver, Ocean Moreno, Kayden Holz and Nik Henry blew past the field with a time of 41.08 seconds winning the race by 12 meters. The time was .55 seconds better than their mark of 41.63 at the New Braunfels Canyon Relays on Saturday, March 9th. The Seguin 4X200 relay team won the gold as well on Saturday.

Henry would also take home the gold in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 10.6 seconds and winning the race by nearly five meters. Moreno won the 200-meter dash, with a time of 21.7 seconds. And Kevin Lingueno won the high jump, clearing the bar at six feet.

In the girls competition, Seguin’s Daisha Shular took home the gold in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.94 seconds. And Lifegate Christian’s Sharla Maples won the girls shot put event with a toss of 38-09 feet.

That’s a lot of Seguin talent on display at the Matador Relays.
