(Devine) — The Marion Bulldogs are in the Area Round. They will take on Crystal City tonight in Devine.
The Javelinas, the champions of District 28-3A beat Jourdanton, 82-54 this past Tuesday in the Bi-District round. The Bulldogs, the third-place team from District 26-3A, held off Yoakum on Tuesday in their Bi-District match-up, winning 51-49. Richie Rayos and Braeden Fleming each had 15 points in the Bulldogs’ victory. Travis Randle chipped in with nine points.
Crystal City has a 23-12 overall record on the season. Marion is 22-9. Tonight’s winner will face either Poth or Rice Consolidated in the regional quarterfinals next week.

(San Antonio) — In the Texas Christian Athletic League Class 2A playoffs in San Antonio on Thursday, the Lifegate girls won their quarterfinal match-up while the boys’ team was knocked out of the playoffs.
The Lady Falcons blew out School of the Woods, 51-23. The Falcon boys were defeated by Texas Christian, 49-44. The Lifegate boys end their season with a 15-11 record.
The Lady Falcons, 23-1 on the season, will take on Humble Christian in the state semifinals this afternoon. The game tips at 2:30 p.m. at Mission Concepcion Sports Park in San Antonio.
The TCAL Class 2A championship game will be held on Saturday morning at Mission Concepcion. The Lady Falcons won the Class 1A title in 2023. They have won six overall state titles.
