(Kekaha, HI) — The Seguin Lady Matador softball team is the Aloha State today.
“I am so excited! I’m excited to be on the beach,” Seguin senior pitcher Madyson Schultze said. “I’m excited to play softball in Hawaii and just be with my team.”
The Lady Matadors, winners of six of their first seven games this season, will play in the 38th Annual Waimea High School Varsity Softball Tournament in Kekaha, Hawaii. Seguin is playing six games over the next three days in the Pacific Ocean air.
(Seguin) — Meanwhile back here on the mainland, the Seguin baseball team is hosting the Matador Baseball tournament today through Saturday. The Mats play their first game this morning against Austin Akins at 9 O’clock at Smokey Joe Williams Field.
(Marion) — Down the road, the Marion High School baseball and softball tournaments are taking place. The Lady Bulldogs and Navarro Lady Panthers are competing in the softball tourney today through Saturday.
Navarro’s first game is against Blanco at 9 a.m. Marion will play the Cibolo Steele JV at 10:45 a.m. Be sure to check the KWED Facebook page and our website SeguinToday.com for tournament results.
The Bulldog baseball team will start play on Friday at the Marion tournament. Marion won their home opener this past Tuesday on a walk-off base hit by Jack Wells in the bottom of the 7th in a 9-8 victory over Holy Cross.
(Jourdanton) — And the Navarro baseball team will head down to the Jourdanton tournament on Friday. The Panthers, who beat Jourdanton in Geronimo 8-1 on Tuesday, will play Friday and Saturday in that tournament.
