Seguin ISD to discuss possible $21.7 million bond during board workshop

(Seguin) — Seguin ISD board members will be diving a bit more into the possibility of ordering a bond issue this coming May. Although no official action will be taken tonight, trustees will be discussing the item during a special board workshop. The discussion comes after the board last month voted to table the item until they can learn exactly what is needed by the district.

The proposed bond package could be as much as $21.7 million dollars. The bulk of the funding would go toward the Irma Lewis Seguin Outdoor Learning Center. District officials say with the district’s recent purchase of the property, the district now has to focus on preparing the educational facility for students.

The board, tonight, will also learn more on the findings by TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) who was scheduled to tour the facility and provide its own assessment on the property.

The meeting begins today at 6:30 p.m. in the Seguin ISD Board Room located in the district’s administrative building.
