**Local High School Senior Named 2024 4A Male Texas Student-Athlete of the Year**
**Geronimo, TX – February 6, 2024** – Navarro High School is proud to announce that Hayden “Sunny” Toliver, a senior at Navarro High School, has been named the 2024 4A Male Texas Student-Athlete of the Year for the Letterman to Leadership Scholarship from the 2words Character Development program. Sunny will receive a $1,000 scholarship towards his college of choice.
The 2Words Character Development program equips coaches with a curriculum designed to empower students to excel as leaders both on and off the field. Sunny Toliver epitomizes the values of this program, demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities throughout his high school career.
Sunny, who was crowned Homecoming King in October 2023, has consistently excelled academically, maintaining a top position in his class. His dedication to excellence extends beyond the classroom, as he is an accomplished athlete, student leader, and role model for his peers.
Sunny Toliver, whose passion for football has been evident since his early years, has played linebacker since the first grade and continues to excel on and off the field. His sophomore year, he was chosen as an All-State football player and now he is the 2words 4A Texas State Athlete of the Year.
In addition to his athletic achievements, Sunny is actively involved in Student Council and the National Honor Society, demonstrating his commitment to serving his school and community. After graduating from Navarro High School, Sunny plans to pursue a major in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
“Sunny is the definition of what a student-athlete should be,” says Rod Blount, Navarro ISD Head Football Coach & Athletic Director. “He is a fierce competitor in the classroom and on the field. He is also a great young man who is always a class act and helping others around him reach their full potential.”
