(Seguin) – The community will not have one but two opportunities this week to meet the finalist for Seguin ISD Superintendent. The school district says it is hosting the two meet and greet events to give stakeholders the chance to visit personally with Interim Superintendent Dr. Veronica Vijil.
The meet and greets are designed as come-and-go events with the first being held on Tuesday, February 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Seguin ISD Central Office. The second opportunity will be hosted at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 8 in the Seguin High School Performing Arts Center.
The meet and greets are part of the district’s desire to better connect Dr. Vijil with the community as it awaits the official 21-day waiting period in order to officially hire her.
The Seguin ISD Board of Trustees on Tuesday, January 23 voted to name Dr. Vijil as the lone finalist for the school superi9ntendnet position. The district looks to replace former Superintendent Dr. Matthew Gutierrez who resigned in late September after taking a position as the chief of schools in the Leander ISD.
