(San Antonio) — The Seguin Matadors fell on the road in a District 26-5A clash to Pieper 75-65 on Tuesday night, but senior John Jackson eclipsed the 2000-point plateau.

Jackson, who passed 1500 career points back in November had 22 points on the night and moved past 2000 in his career during the first quarter. Corey Dailey led Matador scorers with 24. The Mats will be back home on Friday night to host Smithson Valley. You’ll be able to hear that game on KWED.

(Seguin) — In Seguin on Tuesday night. The Pieper Lady Warriors took down the Lady Matadors, 48-29. Desiree Zuniga led Seguin with 12 points while Britlyn Walls poured in 8. The Lady Mats are at Smithson Valley on Friday night.

(Geronimo) — The Navarro Runnin’ Lady Panthers stayed in a tie for second place in District 27-4A with a 45-26 home victory Tuesday night over Canyon Lake. Navarro was led by Tegan Harborth, who had 15 points. Sienna Kramer and Maddi Gilliam also scored in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively. The Lady Panthers are at first-place Fredericksburg on Friday.

(Fischer) — The Navarro boys fell on the road to Canyon Lake, 64-49 on Tuesday night. The Panthers will host the Fredericksburg Billies on Friday night. Both teams will be looking for their first district wins.

(Marion) — And in Marion Tuesday night, the Lady Bulldogs were a winner while the Marion boys came up short in a girls/boys doubleheader with Great Hearts Northern Oaks.

The Marion girls won the first game, 42-33. The Lady Bulldogs used an 11-0 run in the first half to turn a two-point deficit into a nine-point lead and never looked back.

With a couple of their top players out of the lineup, Marion’s Breelon Allen stepped up to lead all scorers with 18 points on the night. The Lady Bulldogs improved their District 26-3A mark to 2-2. Marion remains in a tie for third place in the district.

In the night cap, the Griffin boys came from behind to slip past the Bulldogs 66-61. Northern Oaks trailed by three at the half, but outscored Marion 19-10 in the third quarter and were able to maintain their lead in the fourth quarter to improve to 2-0 in district play.

The Bulldogs were led by Braeden Fleming who had 24 points. Jackson Missildine added 11 and Richie Rayos had 10 for Marion. The Bulldogs are 1-1 in district. Both Marion girls and boys teams will be in Luling on Friday night for another girls/boys district doubleheader.

(Bastrop) — And the Lifegate girls and boys games with the Bastrop Tribe Warriors were canceled on Tuesday. The Falcon teams will play a girls/boys doubleheader at Sunnybrook Christian tomorrow.
