Marion Bulldogs represented well on All-District 13-3A football team

(Marion) — The All-District 13-3A football team was announced last week and there were several Marion Bulldogs who made the team.

Junior linebacker Hadley Mote, who broke the Marion single season tackle record in 2023 was named to the All-District first team. Mote averaged over 10 tackles per game for the Bulldogs with 126 stops this past season.

Joining Mote on the defensive all-district first team were senior linebacker Aiden Batey and senior defensive back Chase Hallmark. Hallmark earned first team defense and offensive accolades as he was selected first team at wide receiver as well.

Hallmark’s teammates, senior quarterback Bo Stahl, junior running back Christian Sanchez, senior offensive linemen Kase Kelso and Justin DeHoyos along with junior offensive lineman Garrett Mann were also honored on the All-District 13-3A first team. Stahl and Mann were all-district first team members in 2022.

Second team members for the Bulldogs were tight end Sam Proscia, and linemen Michael Purcell and Keagan Taylor on offense. Defensive second team members for Marion were defensive back Jaxon Garner, lineman Weston Teboe and linebacker Jaiden Riley.

Marion Bulldog honorable mentions were Mote, Batey, and Garner at wide receiver on offense. Defensive honorable mentions were DeHoyos and Purcell on the defensive line along with defensive lineman Adonis Gutierrez and defensive back Caden Hernandez.

35 Bulldogs were named to the Academic All-District team. Those honorees were Batey, DeHoyos, Garner, Gutierrez, Hallmark, Hernandez, Kelso, Mann, Mote, Proscia, Purcell, Riley, Sanchez, Taylor, Teboe, Stahl along with David Amescua, Emerson Blevins, Braeden Flemming, Michael Goerndt, Evan Hage, Gage Hamilton, Shane Mora, Ryan Mowery, Ian Nevarez, Tanner Otis, Kade Pape, Aaron Salinas, Tristan Schlogel, Cayden Schultze, Will Thetford, Gavin Thomspon, Gavin Seofje, Jack Wells and Kyle Zamora.

Marion finished 4th in District 13-3A in the 2023 season. The Bulldogs advanced to the Bi-District round of the UIL Class 3A playoffs under 6th-year head coach Ryne Miller.
