Seguin's Holiday Stroll events ring in some top winners


(Seguin) — The three-day holiday celebration might be over in downtown Seguin, but its bragging rights and prestigious awards live on for the remainder of this year’s holiday season.

Thousands of people showed up for this year’s events which included Thursday’s Holiday Lighted Parade and Lighting Up of Central Park, Friday’s Cocoa Sip-N-Stroll, and Saturday’s North Pole Stroll.

The trio of events are put on each year by the city’s Main Street Program and the Parks and Recreation Department, as well as the Downtown Business Alliance.

 This year’s parade winners include:

 In the Commercial Category:

  • 1st Place-Pure & Gentle Soap
  • 2nd Place-Autoworx & Texas Rage
  • 3rd Place-DJ Chuko

In the Non-Commercial Category winners include:

  • 1st Place-Miss Golden Crescent Court
  • 2nd Place-St. James Catholic School
  • 3rd Place-True Women Drill Team

The winners of the Christmas Tree Decorating Contest were also announced:

  • 1st Place-Leap Ahead Learning- Cinderella Tree
  • 2nd Place-Seguin Parrot Head Club- Christmas with the Phlock! Parrot Tree
  • 3rd Place-Master Gardeners- Gardener Santa Tree

The Main Street Program has also announced its Cocoa Winners from Friday’s Sip-N-Stroll:

  • Best Milk Chocolate Cocoa: –Seguin-Guadalupe County Heritage Museum
  • Best White Chocolate Cocoa: –Southern Good
  • Best Dark Chocolate Cocoa: –You’re So Crafty
  • Most Unique Cocoa: –Burnt Bean Co.
  • Most Creatively Named Cocoa: — Pecantown Books & Brews “Mrs. Weasley’s Hot Chocolate”

The Christmas trees around the square will remain in place until after the start of the New Year.
