Tickets on sale for Saturday tour
(Seguin) — You are invited to see how others celebrate the holidays indoors. Tickets are now on sale for this year’s 30th annual Holiday Heritage Tour of Homes hosted by the Seguin Conservation Society. The tour of homes will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.
For the last three decades, property owners have opened their doors to the public for the annual showcase.
Marty Keil, of the Seguin Conservation Society, says taking the tour is easy and celebrates the holiday season. She says with the purchase of a ticket, an individual may visit each of the seven properties listed on this year’s tour.
“It is an effort to let the community know more about the heritage of the town that they live in and the area that they live in and so we quite often have a real variety of sites to see. We have homes. We have businesses. Sometimes, we have even just had land. This year, we are featuring houses in the College Heights area which is the neighborhood closest to downtown Seguin there on College Street and we also have one of the newest homes out in the Oak Hollow Subdivision on the east side of town. Then, we have two places on River Street, one a home that has been converted to a business and another being the Federated Women’s Clubhouse,” said Keil.
Keil says the tours have allowed for more history to be shared and to see how others have decked the halls for the holidays.
“Every home has a story to tell, and the roots run deep and so these are homes that maybe were built 50 years ago, 75 years ago, even 100 years ago,” said Keil.
The list of properties include 523 E. College St, the home of Becca and Tim Clark; 522 E. College St, the home of Veronica and Doug Miller; 802 Elm St., the home of Heather and Noel Guerin; 520 N. River St; The Meservey Group, PLLC- the business of Jennifer and Rob Meservey; 423 N. River St, The Federated Women’s Clubhouse; 600 Oak Haven, the home of Bree and Todd Vickers and 213 E. Live Oak St, the site of The First Church and Heritage Village.
Tickets are $20 pre-sale or $25 at the door. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased before noon Saturday at the following locations. They include Gift & Gourmet; the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce, Keepers Interiors or online at thetexas.org.
