MSG Ronald Frank “Ronnie” Ruby, USA (Ret.), age 74 of Seguin, passed away on November 21, 2023. Ronnie was born on October 6, 1949, in Eagle Lake, Texas to Alice Belle Clapp Mckee and Frank Ruby. Ronnie was a member of the 1968 graduating class of Seguin High School. He proudly served his country by joining the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and after 8 years of service he transferred to the United States Army where he retired as a Master Sergeant. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, building items, cooking, casino trips, and playing golf.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, J. L. McKee.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Marcy Ruby; daughters, Kimberly Green and her husband Patrick and Amber Story and her husband Chris; granddaughters, Ashton Story, Whitney Young, and husband Will, Cassidy Kirkpatrick and husband Ty, Rebecca Riebe, and husband Ryan, and Peyton Story; great-grandchildren, Henry, Macie, and Mahalie and Graham on the way; sister-in-law, Gina Burns and husband David and Debbie Vincent; brother-in-law, Shannon Truelock; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends.
Graveside services and interment with Full Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at San Geronimo Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Tom Jones officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Jay Green, Will Young, Ryan Riebe, Ty Kirkpatrick, Danny Arriola, David Burns, and Shannon Truelock.
